EastEnders' Louisa Lytton says she 'hates' her pregnant body in very honest post

EastEnders star Louisa Lytton has admitted she "hates" her pregnant body and she "doesn't like what's going on" as she opened up in an honest Instagram post.

The actress, 32, is due to give birth to her first child with fiancé Ben Bhanvra in September.

And the soap star has been completely real with her pregnancy journey, sharing every detail with her fans.

She shared how there has been times she's broke down in tears to her husband-to-be Ben, telling him: "I hate my body and I don't like what is going on!"

Louisa admitted she feels pressure to be positive throughout pregnancy, but shared it is not always possible.

"You are pregnant so everyone around you feels like this is the best news possible," she told the Made By Mammas podcast.

"This is what you wanted so you should feel happy every day and not have any negative thoughts. And in my head I thought this doesn't sit right," she continued.

"I am so happy that I am pregnant but I am so unhappy in many other ways. At first I had sickness but my body was changing and I wasn't in control of the fact that I had no energy. Normally I am a really energetic person.

"I was craving really terrible foods and I don't really eat like that. You are almost afraid to speak to anyone around it," Louisa added.

The mum-to-be revealed she felt "terrible" talking to her friends in a "negative" way about pregnancy, as some people struggle to conceive.

"My mum was like, 'You are pregnant of course you are going to put on weight'. And to my friends who hadn't been through it, I felt terrible to be negative around the fact that I was pregnant when some people are trying.

"It becomes quite isolating and quite lonely in a way. I had days when I was at home crying to Ben like, 'I hate my body and I don't like what is going on'."

Louisa went on to share how she tried to talk to Ben about her changing body, but he "couldn't understand" it.

"I talked to Ben for a while but I knew he just couldn't understand it," she said. "Before I was even pregnant throughout the first lockdown we were eating so healthily I was exercising every day.

"Looking back I was tiny, if I am honest. Even then I'd say, 'Look at my bum, look at my cellulite '. To him it was just me doing my usual, 'I don't like myself'."

She concluded: "I ended up speaking to a few of my friends and they've all been amazing but it is so hard to even explain to people how you feel. I couldn't work it out for myself."

On Monday, it was revealed Louisa has filmed her final scenes as Ruby Allen on EastEnders as she leaves for maternity leave.

"I've finally finished work, which is so surreal," she said on Instagram. "I’ve been told it’s my time to switch off and relax."

The actress confirmed she was expecting her first child with businessman Ben back in March.

Now, it's a short countdown to the baby's arrival.
