EastEnders: Lola's fiancé Ewan arrives in Walford – but there's a chilling twist

EastEnders saw a twist after the arrival of Ewan, played by Vera actor Riley Jones, who is the secret fiancé of Lola Pearce.

Ben Mitchell dropped the news on Lola’s ex Jay on Monday that she was secretly engaged, and that Ewan was her fiancé.

Lola has received a number of missed calls from him, and Ben threatened her over her secret life in Friday’s episode, leaving viewers stunned.

But it was on Monday that Lola’s secret finally came out, just as she was growing close to her ex again.

Ben wanted to stop Lola and Jay in their tracks, currently using Lola to help him fleece his dad Phil.

In Tuesday’s episode, Jay was heartbroken that Lola had lied to him, and shut down any hopes of a reunion.

Lola fell apart realising she might have lost him for good, with Ewan then seen trying to find her.

Ben revealed Lola had a secret fiancé (BBC / Jack Barnes)

He turned up in Walford to be met by Ben, who welcomed him into the house.

Ewan was clearly uneasy around Ben, before asking where his missing fiancée was, while Ben remained quiet.

He then asked about Jay and whether Lola had left him, with Ben then receiving a call from Lola herself who had decided to go back to Newcastle with Ewan.

But unbeknownst to her, Ben took Ewan to the cafe were he threatened him to leave and never return, before stealing his phone and threatening to kill him.

He then lied to Lola that Ewan had left her, even looking at a text to her from Ewan that was actually sent by himself.

Lola was devastated that her future was in tatters, as Ben watched on knowing what he’d done.

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
