EastEnders airs worry for Linda Carter next week, as Max Branning makes contact with her.
The character sends her a gift after their romance earlier this year, with him yet to find out she is pregnant with his child.
Linda is back with her husband Mick, and the pair are pretending he is the biological father and not Max.
She fears he will learn the truth and come back to steal the child when they are born, following a shocking twist recently.
Max is on the run after kidnapping his young granddaughter Abi, leaving her aunt Rainie devastated - with her having been raising her with husband Stuart.
Next week, he makes contact for the first time since the drama kicked off as he reaches out to a concerned Linda.
She's desperate to keep her pregnancy on the hush as much as possible, worried that if he knew he would realise the child is his.
But she can't ignore Max's gift after realising it's stamped with a date and location and therefore has given a hint to Max's whereabouts, or at least where he's been recently.
It appears Max has taken her to Croatia judging by the post stamp, while it's not clear where he's headed next or if he will remain there.
As Rainie remains desperate for answers, even wanting to hire a private investigator to find Max and Abi, Linda is left with a decision to make.
Fearing Max possibly returning if he is found, she debates whether she has to do the right thing and tell Max's brother Jack the truth about the gift, or keep quiet.
Passing on the information about his potential location would give policeman Jack a lead for where Abi might be.
Max, played by actor Jake Wood, left the BBC soap in February after almost 15 years in Walford, after his romance with Linda ended.
After hitting rock bottom, he left but decided to leave Abi in the care of Rainie and Stuart.
He's clearly changed his mind though, in a horrifying twist, snatching her a few weeks ago after Jack took her with him to France for a trip with Max.
Jack returned alone with the bombshell news that his sibling had taken Abi and run away.
