EastEnders' Lacey Turner is left 'heartbroken' at the death of her beloved dog

Devastation for EastEnders actress Lacey Turner as her beloved dog, Dexter, has died.

The 31-year-old soap actress - who has played downtrodden Stacey Slater on the BBC show since 2004 - revealed her heartache after the chocolate Labrador passed away.

Taking to social media on Saturday, the TV babe revealed Dexter had enjoyed a happy 11 years on this earth before passing away.

And she also revealed he had developed a quick and firm bond with her daughter, Dusty Violet, who was born last month.

“My handsome boy!! I cannot believe I’m writing this,” Lacey began as she shared a treasure trove of adorable photos via Instagram Stories.

“I am heartbroken but so grateful that I got the pleasure of loving you for 11 whole years,” she continued.

“You really were the besets friend a girl could’ve asked for,” she added.

Lacey shared photos of the beloved pet posing among green bushes and out on country walks, and branded him: “The most loyal and kindest dog I ever knew.”

Further images showed the dog gazing lovingly at the camera, and basking in sunshine.

Lacey went on to describe him as: “a gentle giant,” and “a true gentleman.”

She then went on to share photos of him with one-month-old baby daughter Dusty - with the two laying close to each other in photos.

“The best fur brother even if only for a short time,” she wrote.

“I will tell her how you loved to lay next to her,” she promised.

She continued to pine via social media, sharing photos of Dexter as a puppy as well as all grown up.

“My gorgeous boy. I miss you so much already,” she wrote across one image.

“Your cuddles were like no other. If I could hold you forever I would! My little family won’t be the same without you,” she wrote.

“Thank you for loving me all those years! I love you always! Sleep tight handsome boy,” she concluded.

Dexter’s passing is the second dog death Lacey has had to deal with this year - as her french bulldog Reg also croaked earlier this year

Back in April, the star seemed inconsolable that the black and white animal had died - but now she is happy her dogs will be reunited in the afterlife.

“Reg will be so happy to see you,” she wrote - sharing a snap of the two dogs sat together.
