EastEnders has confirmed that Kat Slater is returning to Walford very soon.
In tonight's episode of Secrets From The Square, Davood Ghadami said Kat will be back on screen when the soap returns after the coronavirus lockdown forced it off air.
Jessie Wallace, who plays Kat, was given a two month suspension from EastEnders as reports claimed she arrived to the set drunk.
But she's now returned to filming as Kat and Kush, played by Davood, go through a "really testing" time in lockdown.
Davood said: "Last thing we saw was him [Kush] having a bit of difficulty with Jean, and him trying to sort it out and going about it the wrong way, but he’s forgiven by Jean and let back in.
"So he’s in No. 31 with all the kids, with Jean, with Mo, with Shirley.
"And we also have Kat back, so they actually spend lockdown together.
"So, can you just imagine? All those characters! How that would work for Kush… the queue for the toilet. Like, think of it!
"He’s had a really testing time, unlike Martin, who sounds like he's enjoying the fact that they [Martin and Ruby] can't leave the bedroom!
"It's a very testing time, and what happens at the other end of it is so exciting!"
Earlier this year, it was revealed soap bosses had hauled Jessie into a meeting over an incident during work, and she was suspended for two months.
Reports suggested she had been caught under the influence of alcohol during filming.
Jessie's suspension meant the writers were scrambling to come up with a Kat Slater storyline to explain her exit.
A source told the Daily Star Sunday : "Scriptwriters are currently coming up with a storyline to explain Kat’s temporary exit from Walford."
"Bosses were left with no choice but to discipline her," added the insider. "During the meeting she was told to sort herself out before returning to work."
