EastEnders: Jean Slater learns devastating news as son Sean makes return

EastEnders airs an upsetting discovery for Jean Slater next week, as she prepares to track down son Sean.

Sean Slater makes his long-awaited return to Albert Square next week, while Jean struggles to come to terms with her cancer diagnosis.

Opening up to friend Shirley Carter, she admits her fears about her health battle, while admitting she wants to see her son again who left Walford in 2009.

He finally makes his comeback next week, but not before poor Jean learns some news from his sister Stacey Fowler.

EastEnders teases return of heartthrob Sean Slater with explosive new trailer

Jean asks or Stacey’s help in finding Sean, but she confesses she hasn’t been able to contact him and that his number didn’t work.

She soon confesses this is a lie though, admitting to her mother that she just wanted to protect her.

A furious Jean borrows Habiba’s phone in the Square, and leaves a message for her son.

When he doesn’t respond, it leads to Stacey dropping a bombshell about her brother when Jean takes her anger out on her at the hospital.

Lacey Turner’s character reveals that Sean already knows about her illness, because they made contact a while ago.

Jean heads into her appointment devastated that he still hasn't contacted her despite knowing what she's going through, with Stacey forced to leave to pick the kids up from school.

But both mum and daughter are completely unaware that her son Sean is already back in Walford.

So what does Sean have planned, and why hasn’t he responded to Jean? Viewers will find out next week!

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
