EastEnders' James Bye reveals birth of 'miracle' baby after heartbreaking fertility battle

EastEnders star James Bye and his wife Victoria have welcomed their third son after a heartbreaking battle to concieve.

The actor, who plays Martin Fowler in the BBC One soap, already has two boys with Victoria an their third, Hugo, was born on February 20.

The couple struggled to have another baby as Victoria suffers from endometriosis, and they both sobbed with happiness when Hugo arrived.

James even dived into the birthing pool so he could be first to hold his new son.

He told OK! magazine: "Being the first to hold Hugo made me so emotional."

Victoria added: "We both sat there sobbing with happiness, holding him in the birthing pool."

James went on to explain the couple feel closer now they are parents to three kids.

He said: "We feel closer. With three children, if you’re not a team you’d have no
chance."

The actor is also not ruling out the possibility of baby number four, adding: "Never say never."

When they confirmed the pregnancy news last year, Victoria opened up about the couple's fertility challenges.

She told OK: "I fell pregnant really quickly with both [sons] Edward and Louis, so when we started trying for our third early last summer, we thought we’d fall pregnant quickly again.

“We tried for a couple of months and nothing happened.

"Then I began suffering from aches and pains in my abdominal area. I went for tests and it transpired I had severe endometriosis.

"We thought our baby-making days were over. Month after month, we’d see negative tests.

"But then in June we went to the Soap Awards and I didn’t fancy drinking, which is unlike me. When we got home I did a test and it was positive – we were so surprised!"
