EastEnders' Jake Wood's Instagram is deleted after he warned about imposer

EastEnders star Jake Wood's Instagram has been deleted shortly after he warned fans there was a scammer posing as the star.

The actor, 48, has built up a loyal fanbase across his social media profiles after starring as Max Branning for 15 years on Albert Square.

Just weeks ago, Jake was furious to find an imposter was posing as himself and sending private messages to fans.

Now it's emerged Jake's account has been wiped from social media without a trace.

The message read: "Sorry this page isn't available.

"The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed. Go back to Instagram."

It's not known when or whether he plans to recreate his account.

His last post on Instagram was uploaded on January 18, two days ago which can still be seen on his Twitter feed.

In recent weeks, Jack had urged his following to be wary of someone impersonating his account.

The redhead warned fans to block and report the so-called imposter using the handle @mr_jakewood.

At the time, he wrote: "It has come to my attention that this cretin @mr_jakewood is messaging a lot of my followers pretending to be me. Please report & block. Thanks."

The actor said goodbye to his long-serving character in December last year when he filmed his last scenes on Albert Square.

He wrote: "That’s a wrap. After 15 years on Albert Square it’s finally time to say goodbye to Max Branning today. I will miss Eastenders and the people here so much.

"Thanks to everyone for all your support."

In November, Jake told fans he was directing his first TV project.

Fans have been following his journey on social media ever since.
