EastEnders heartthrob Jack Ryder compared to David Beckham after hunky transformation

Jack Ryder appeared on Lorraine on Wednesday and turned the heads of viewers after they were amazed by his hunky transformation.

Not only that, viewers compared the 39-year-old former EastEnders heartthrob to former England football captain David Beckham.

The Walford star was in the studio to chat to 61-year-old host, Lorraine Kelly, about the release of his new book but those watching at home only had one thing dominating their minds.

The comparison to 'Golden Balls' Becks was the conversation on social media and viewers put Jack's writing skills to one side to exclaim about his transformation into Beckham.

Twitter was soon alight with one fan writing: "Jack's got a look of Beckham."

Another thought there was movie potential, tweeting: "If David Beckham ever did a film about his life Jack could play him."

While a third was taken back and realised they still had the feels, writing: "Thanks @lorraine for confirming that I still fancy the pants off older Jack Ryder."

It has been nearly two decades since Jack was gracing Albert Square as Jamie Mitchell before the character was killed off.

Jack has had a busy lockdown as became a father after welcoming a daughter, Marnie, with partner Ella.

He spoke openly about being a parent, saying: "She's doing great, parenting is a mixed bag - as soon as you think you've nailed it something happens.

"But we're absolutely relishing being parents."

The former soap star also reflected on how he was catapulted in the limelight at the age of 17, when he joined the BBC soap in 1998.

Jack admitted: "The fame side was tough to cope with at that time and at that age, but I just kept my head down and got on with the work."

He also went on to say that he is still in touch with some of his former co-stars on EastEnders, including Dean Gaffney and Natalie Cassidy.

Steve McFadden, who plays Phil Mitchell, also bumped into Jack and despite claims of a transformation, he recognised Jack immediately.

Jack said: "We are all loosely in touch, we have a lot of fun memories together."
