EastEnders' Gillian Taylforth 'calls off wedding after string of disagreements'

Gillian Taylforth has reportedly split from her partner of six years, cancelling the wedding in the process.

The 64-year-old EastEnders star had been planning to marry Dave Fairbairn, who had served seven years behind bars for a drugs conviction.

The pair had previously split in 2017 but their romance blossomed again and after hooking back up, decided that this time they would tie the knot.

It is looking like this won't be the case though and Gillian, who plays Kathy Beale in the BBC soap, found it was not working.

A friend of the star told The Sun: "It’s a great shame after all this time together but it just wasn’t working out. They’ve called it quits on the best of terms.”

Fairbairn had been found guilty of plotting to bring one of the biggest ecstacy hauls in to the UK.

He was served seven years in jail after being found guilty in 2003.

Gillian is best known for her turn as Kathy in Albert Square, appearing in Walford between 1985 and 2000.

After leaving EastEnders, Gillian appeared in Footballers’ Wives, The Bill and Hollyoaks before making a surprise return to Albert Square in 2015.

When she returned, she had viewers hailing her appearance as they were stunned by her youthful appearance.

One viewer said: "Where’s Kathy been? She looks ten years younger!"

"Raaaaaaaaa Kathy came back FITTTTT," added another.

A third said: "I want the number for Kathy’s surgeon, she looks amazing"

Gillian has two children with Geoff Knights before they split in 2009 and he died of cancer in 2013.
