EastEnders' Adam Woodyatt seen filming for first time since announcing marriage split

EastEnders' Ian Beale actor Adam Woodyatt is filming some highly emotional scenes before his break, our exclusive pictures confirm.

The actor, whose marriage with wife of 22 years Beverley Sharp was confirmed to have broken down recently, is set to take a break as part of a storyline on the show.

Ian, who is making himself an enemy to several characters at the moment, will soon be off screen - with the exact reason for him departing not yet revealed.

He is remaining in scenes for now, but the actor who plays him is set for a short time off getting a well-earned rest after a troubling year for his character.

Ian has battled money issues, not to mention the fact he also played a part in the death of best friend Sharon Watts' teenage son Dennis Rickman.

While Dotty Cotton is out to expose him, his killer secret remains hidden for now.

Amid speculation over whether he will finally be exposed, the character remains on screen for now.

Some of the cast were spotted filming at a cemetery recently, for mystery new scenes.

Emotional times will unfold at the graveyard, with Ian and Sharon visiting Dennis' grave.

It's thought the scenes will air around the time of the first anniversary of the boat crash that claimed his life.

Later on, Dennis' stepfather Phil Mitchell also remembers him as he too visits his grave.

He is also said to have a row with a grieving Sharon, leaving her in tears.

It's not confirmed when the scenes will air, or whether Ian will be exposed by this point.

But the walls are certainly closing in on him, with fans expecting big scenes ahead.
