EastEnders fans 'work out' Sharon's real motive for marrying Ian after spotting clue

Ian Beale's impromptu proposal left jaws dropping to the floor earlier this week, but fans were even more flabbergasted when Sharon actually went and married him.

But some EastEnders fans are convinced that Sharon's agreement isn't simply to placate her dying friend in hospital.

Ian, played by Adam Woodyatt, was responsible for Denny's death in February this year, but when Dotty (Molly Conlin) attempted to expose him Sharon appeared not to believe her.

Yet a few viewers reckon that Sharon might not be as clueless about the truth behind Denny's death.

Ian had believed that he was dying after doctors confirmed that he was suffering from a bleed to the brain after being attacked last week.

He had proposed to Sharon so that she would be able to inherit the Queen Vic if he died.

Initially, Ian had believed that Sharon wouldn't marry him, but she returned with a member of the clergy, who allowed them to wed.

Unsurprisingly, fans are suspicious over the reason Sharon would agree to marry Ian, with some suggesting that it could be her attempt at revenge against the businessman.

One tweeted: "What’s going on here with Sharon and Ian? I think Sharon is playing him... I think she knows his part in Denny’s death 100% not having this is genuine 1 bit #EastEnders.”

While another commented: "If we needed any more proof that Sharon is up to something it was that wedding. Oddest thing ever. She is going to get all his money, fleece him and leave him with nothing. #EastEnders."

A third suggested: "Sharon is plotting something. I think she knows about dennis #Eastenders."

Is Sharon secretly plotting revenge against Ian?
