EastEnders fans 'terrified' and 'freaked out' as Whitney murders stalker Leo

EastEnders viewers were left terrified and "freaked out" by violent scenes on the soap on Friday night, as a shock death was confirmed.

Brutal scenes saw Whitney Dean accidentally murder her stalker Leo King in self-defence as they storyline came to a gruesome end.

In horrifying scenes, Whitney was cornered in her house by the man who has stalked her for months, following the reveal of his true identity.

But as he tried to kill her after locking her in her own home, she fought back leading to a final deadly showdown.

The scenes led to her stabbing him to death with a knife, trying to stop him from killing her.

Meanwhile a fourth said: "Bit violent for 8pm."

Leo had arrived in Walford last summer, with it soon confirmed he was the secret son of Whitney's former stepfather and abuser Tony King.

He's always been convinced that Whitney lied about his dad being a paedophile, and that she was the reason he took his own life in prison.

She had no idea he'd been hiding in her attic for the past week, waiting to attack her - claiming it was justice for his dad.

But as Whitney got ready for the looming boat party, she was confronted in her bedroom by Leo.

The violent scenes led to Leo's death on the soap, as Whitney fought for her survival.
