EastEnders fans stunned by Jack Branning's 'miraculous recovery' after savage beating

EastEnders fans are an eagle-eyed bunch.

Scott Maslen's Jack Branning was out and about during tonight's episode following a recent clash with Albert Square's resident hard nut, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).

Phil had thought Jack the cuplrit of an affair with wife Sharon that left her pregnant - he was wrong, but that didn't stop him from leaving poor Jack bloodied and bruised, and even wanted to set him on fire before son Ben intervened.

Tonight, though, fans noticed his scars seemed to have healed up very quickly indeed.

Many took to Twitter to ask how Jack had made such a "miraculous recovery."

"Jack has healed up fast #eastenders," one laughed.

Another penned: "Jack heals well, looked a right mess the other day. #eastenders."

A third observed: "@bbceastenders I see Jack has made a miraculous recovery after the beating Phil gave him...#EastEnders."

A fourth joked: "Jack's had a very quick recovery, barely a scratch on his face #EastEnders."

Christmas Day is fast approaching - for Walford, it's set to be a grim affair, with the behind-the-scenes lot hinting that we could be getting a double death.

They hinted that Phil will be involved - hardly surprising, given we've seen what he can do - and it's thought Keanu Taylor might be his victim.

He's the actual one who had an affair with Sharon - and the one Phil wanted instead of Jack.

The soap's Senior Executive Producer, Kate Oates, told the Daily Star Online : "If you cross one Mitchell, you cross them all."

Kate added: "There's a little bit of a twist in there as to who will strike the killer blow."

She also suggested Martin and Tubbs could be involved in a hit and run incident - the second time Martin would have killed someone with his car after he hit Jamie Mitchell back in 2002.

"They left a guy lying in the road so there's still that to play out," Kate continued, "And the resonance for Martin over what happened with Jamie will be there too."

*EastEnders is back tomorrow night on BBC One at 7:30pm, and Christmas Day at 9:30pm.
