EastEnders fans spot problem with Hunter as he makes disturbing plea in court

Hunter Owen made an unwelcome return to EastEnders tonight - but fans spotted a problem.

The troubled teenager, who has not been seen on screen for weeks, returned for his plea hearing in court.

Hunter was charged with murdering Ray Kelly and was supposed to plead 'not guilty' to the crime.

However, Mel was horrified when Hunter gave her a smile and said: "Guilty."

There were a few questions raised about his appearance, considering he has been behind bars for the last few weeks.

EastEnders viewers took to Twitter after noticing Hunter's hair during his return.

One viewer said: "Hunters got a fresh haircut and styled hair considering how long he’s been in prison"

Another added: "Nice that Hunter can still keep up the maintenance on his hair whilst inside!"

A third agreed: "How come Hunters hair is so.. styled? It’s not even grown out a little bit. He’s in prison."

Worried Mel met with her son afterwards to ask him why he changed his plea at the last minute.

Hunter said: "If it makes you feel any better the brief was just as surprised as you."

He explained that it was "too late" to change his plea as a sentencing date had been set.

When Hunter said he wanted to protect his mum, Mel was close to tears.

"You’re just a kid. You’re my little boy," pleaded Mel as she vowed to never give up on her son.

Mel hit the bottle and turned on everyone in the Vic for gossiping about Hunter.

"Look at all of you. Petty thieves, drunks, hypocrites, slappers, liars. You’ve got no right anyone to judge Hunter," she screamed.

* EastEnders airs on BBC One on Mondays and Fridays at 8pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm
