EastEnders fans spot clue Alfie Moon will win Kat Slater back after bombshell confession

EastEnders fans have been left convinced that a rekindled romance is coming between Alfie Moon and ex Kat Slater after spotting a clue in Thursday evening’s episode.

The soap legend, played by actor Shane Richie in the BBC soap, made his shock comeback this week ahead of Kat’s wedding to Phil Mitchell.

BBC viewers watched as Alfie returned determined to ruin Kat’s big day and while he was successful, the couple still plan to tie the knot.

In Thursday's episode, Alfie weighed up leaving Walford since Kat had chosen to stay with Phil over getting back with him.

Before heading off, Alfie dropped by the Vic where raising a pint to his kids gave him second thoughts about leaving Albert Square so soon.

It appeared Kat was already warming up to Alfie, as she snapped at Phil when he complained about the boys not seeing their father for ‘another few years’ – then Alfie pitched up at her door to drop a major bombshell.

He said: “Sorry, Kat, I saw the way you looked at me earlier and it's the same look I have inside when I look at you.”

Alfie pulled Kat in for a kiss, and while she shoved him off and slapped him, he insisted he's ‘not going nowhere’.

“I'm gonna win you back before you and Phil tie the knot. I love you Kat, you know I've always loved ya,” Alfie told her. “How about this? It's gonna be me and you getting married.”

Kat told him she would only marry him in a straight jacket but it was music to Alfie’s ears, as he told her: “You didn’t say no,” leaving fans convinced the couple will reunite because of it.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: “Alfie finally kissed Kat omggg I screamed of happiness I know you still love him Kat deep down!!”

A second said: “Kat and Alfie yessss,” with a star-eyed emoji as another added: “Kat and Alfie will definitely be back together by Christmas.”

Earlier this week, EastEnders characters paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II in a special short scene before Monday's opening credits, saying her death was like losing a nan.

Linda Carter, Denise Fox and Kathy Beale gathered in the Queen Vic pub around a picture of the Queen to discuss her life of service.

“God bless her, she's been there our whole lives,” said Denise, played by Diane Parish. “It's like she's everything we've ever known.”

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One
