EastEnders fans spot blunder as one life hangs in the balance in shooting drama

EastEnders fans have spotted a huge blunder in the shooting storyline - as one life hangs in the balance.

The BBC One soap ended last night with the dramatic sound of a gunshot ringing out, and now we have found out the fate of those who were present - Sharon Watts, Kat Slater and Shirley Carter - as two gunmen stormed Peggy's.

However, Sam Mitchell was also there too and she was the one who was shot as she jumped in front of Kat and saved her life. She was then rushed to hospital, with fans having to wait to find out her fate.

Whilst viewers wait to her the fate of Sam, fans have pointed out a huge error in the show, as Shirley was questioned by the police, all whilst she was still holding a baseball bat in her hand.

" #Eastenders Shirley walking off back to the Vic with her trusty baseball bat... As if the police would let that happen in real life," one wrote, as another added: "The way Shirley is holding that bat iconic #EastEnders."

A third shared: "The way Shirley gave a police statement and still had the baseball bat in her hand #EastEnders @bbceastenders."

Sharon and Kat were nearly shot (BBC)

"That cop’s easily pleased. Not bothering to ask about a description or anything? He must not be being paid to talk! #EastEnders," a fourth penned, with a fifth writing: "Shirley ready with her beloved baseball bat #EastEnders."

A sixth shared: "I love how the police turn a blind eye to Shirley walking around with a baseball bat ... totally normal behaviour ... lol."

During tonight's episode, Kat found out Sharon had been secretly meeting with Phil and that he had a way of getting out of jail, but refused to take it as he didn't want to be a 'grass'.

Sam ended up injured (BBC)

"He doesn't have to be banged up but he wouldn't listen to me. "He could walk out today if he'd just cooperate, if he wasn't so old school," Sharon told Kat, "He's had a 'get out of jail free' card this whole time."

Angry, Kat threw Sharon out - as she feared the pair were keeping something about their relationship from her.

*EastEnders airs on the BBC Mondays through Thursdays at 7.30pm.
