EastEnders fans were in meltdown on Tuesday night, as Stacey Slater and Janine Butcher came face-to-face for the first time in seven years.
They appeared to reignite their bitter feud which runs back over a decade, as Stacey's return led to them squabbling 11 years on from Janine setting her up for stabbing her.
Janine actually stabbed herself to get Stacey in trouble, after discovering she had murdered Archie Mitchell.
Stacey was wanted by the police and forced to go on the run, before she eventually went to prison a little later on, after her confession that she was the one who killed Archie in 2009.
Then in 2014, Stacey headed back to Walford before visiting Janine in prison, after she was arrested for the murder of her partner Michael Moon.
She begged Janine to drop the statement about the stabbing and tell the truth, and Janine eventually did this.
Fastforward to 2021, and a lot of time has passed since the two Walford favourites were last in a room together.
Both recently returning to Albert Square, the characters were stunned to lay eyes on each other again after so long.
Viewers were ready for it though, having waited a long time for this moment.
As Stacey entered the pub to find ex-husband Martin Fowler and her daughter Lily, she was stunned when she recognised Janine.
Janine soon turned around and saw her former rival and pulled the same expression of shock, before making a dig.
The two characters reignited their long-running feud as they began to sling insults but it was surprisingly tame given their history.
Whether the characters will put the past behind them and call a truce remains to be seen, but many fans are hoping for the classic Stacey and Janine fights like old times.
Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: "The Janine and Stacey reunion I’ve been waiting for, more feuding pls."
A second added: "Stacey and Janine on at once??????? Just like old times."
Another wrote: "Janine and Stacey meet for the first time in 16543786 years!" as a fourth commented: "OMG it's Janine VS Stacey."
The comments kept coming too, with a fifth tweet reading: "That Janine and Stacey scene in the Vic was EVERYTHING."
EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
