EastEnders fans puzzled by missing character on BBC soap after Denise's family day

EastEnders fans have been left puzzled by a missing character during a trip to the Square this week.

Fans tuning into the BBC One soap were left baffled as Denise Fox headed out for a meal with her family including her husband Jack Branning, with one key character seemingly missing.

Denise has been supporting her daughter Chelsea, after she found out the truth about what her new husband Gray Atkins was like in a huge showdown, as Whitney faced off against Gray for murdering Kush, Tina and his wife Chantelle Atkins.

Gray has since been caught by the police but Chelsea is still unsure what to do about the child they share.

However, fans tuning into the soap this week were left puzzled as Denise's son Raymond failed to make an appearance during a family dinner, with viewers of the soap taking to Twitter to vent their frustrations.

"Where’s Raymond? Surely he would be out with Denise and Jack with their family? #EastEnders," one wrote.

A second added: "So Denise and Jack go out for dinner with his 2 but wheres Raymond not with Phil is he #Eastenders," as a third shared: "Has Raymond disappeared from # EastEnders?"

Raymond last appeared in a big storyline on the BBC soap when his father Phil Mitchell kidnapped him and prepared to run away for a new life away from Walford, but it wasn't to be and instead Phil is now in prison.

Before she joined the soap as Denise, actress Diane Parish revealed she had a small but "excruciating" role on the soap.

Speaking on BBC’s Secrets from the Square, she said: "I was a singer, so it was the most excruciating role.

"I don't sing, I'm not a singer and it was horrible! Oh, it was awful. I remember Patsy Palmer came up to me at one point and she goes: 'Oh don't worry, it sounds really good, don't worry about it'. I thought: 'It don't, Patsy!'"

She added: "She goes: 'No, it's really good, it is!' She'd just be so positive. The role wasn't for me."
