EastEnders fans predict worrying red herring that could confirm who dies in boat stunt

EastEnders viewers are predicting a twist ahead amid speculation over who dies in the 35th anniversary boat stunt.

One character will lose their life, after falling overboard into the River Thames.

New pictures from filming hinted it could be Mick Carter, played by actor Danny Dyer, who goes overboard and potentially dies.

Other characters on the water include Jack Branning, Max Branning and Tina Carter.

While details are remaining under wraps, Mick actor Danny appeared to suggest rumours of his character dying were false.

In fact, Danny claimed he is hoping to stay on the soap for at least a decade longer.

Not only that, but the star also suggested the death will be a "shock" but that it isn't him.

He told The Mirror: "Another 10 stretch and then I’ll just take a backseat.

"I love EastEnders. I’m very grateful it’s a lovely, lovely job. I’m on the best soap ever invented."

On the death and the upcoming stunt, Danny added: "I think I’m alright."

He continued that the death was "a massive shock to the whole cast".

But viewers are predicting he could simply be throwing fans and press off the scent.

Some questioned whether his comments were simply a "red herring", and that amid rumours Mick goes overboard, he might be the character who dies.

One fan said: "I do however think that it will be Mick that dies and I really don't want it to be."

Another tweeted: "I really don't want Mick to die, but it does have a ring of sense to it..."

A third commented: "I hope it’s not Mick who dies in EastEnders in February, kinda want it to be Linda but it’s probs Mick."

This was echoed by another viewer who said: "Wouldn't surprise me if it's Mick Carter in the boat tragedy tbh.

"Danny Dyer has taken loads of breaks to film movies and other projects. I'm surprised he's stayed in EastEnders as long as he has tbh."

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
