EastEnders fans notice 'embarrassing' sound blunders as Jean climbs the O2

EastEnders viewers spotted some 'embarrassing' sound blunders tonight as Jean Slater climbed the O2.

Jean bravely made her way up the famous London landmark to prove to herself that she could overcome any challenge.

Shirley Carter was supposed to join Jean on the climb but she panicked and had to retreat back down at the last minute.

Comforting her friend, Jean said: "We’re all scared of something. I have to do the chemo tomorrow but you don’t have to climb this with me."

Brave Jean decided to go up alone and conquered her fear of heights - but EastEnders fans noticed something was wrong.

Due to the intense winds at the top of the O2, Jean's conversation with the instructor had to be dubbed over.

But viewers thought it was too obvious that Gillian Wright, who gave an amazing performance, was dubbing her lines.

EastEnders viewers flocked to Twitter to point out the issues with the sound.

They must have been gutted when they realised the sound was f***ed for Jean's climb. Terrible dubbing as usual," said one viewer.

Another added: "Jean’s dubbing on the dome is as hairy as the heights."

"So the audio of Jean climbing the O2 was clearly too windy and got dubbed over, right? Such weird audio," said a third.

A fourth said: "B****y hell, #Eastenders cutting costs on sound production. Jean talking on top of the 02 is like one of those 60’s foreign films which have been dubbed in English. Embarrassing!! Eastenders just gets worse and worse."

Jean enjoyed the view at the top and told the climbing instructor she has cancer.

"I thought if I can do this, I can face anything," she shouted.

Jean admitted the instructor, who suggested she promised to come back in a year, reminded her of her son Sean.

She posed for a photo at the top with the stunning Canary Wharf skyline in the background.
