EastEnders viewers were left feeling sick over tonight's episode, showing the grim reality of Linda Carter's alcoholism.
Throughout the evening, Linda drowned herself in booze as she desperately tried to cope.
But rather than it being a celebration of New Year's Eve, fans were able to witness what it is like through an alcoholic's eyes while in the grasp of their addiction.
Dark scenes showed Linda downing vodka, nastily rowing with friends and family, throwing up in the street and putting herself in serious danger after finding herself in a stranger's hotel room.
Horrified viewers took to Twitter , saying that the episode had left them not wanting to drink on New Year's Eve.
One tweeted: "I feel sick after seeing her drinking that much my god #EastEnders."
Another commented: "Man I feel sick just watching Linda Carter... Also kind worried if I go out tonight I'll go full Linda @kelliebright76 #Eastenders."

However fans also heaped praise on soap star Kellie Bright for her portrayal of Linda.
