EastEnders fans in meltdown as they spot 'freaky' hidden link to axed drama Holby City

Eagle-eyed EastEnders fans have spotted a freaky link has been spotted between the BBC One soap and axed drama series, Holby City.

Fans of the BBC One soap have discovered a major reminder of the drama series which was cancelled back in March.

Holby City viewers, who are missing the medical drama after it's axe couldn't help but notice that some scenes in EastEnders last week looked all too familiar as Ben Mitchell walked the halls of Walford's local sexual health hospital.

Ben, along with Kheerat Panesar were seen heading to to the sexual health clinic where the pair were awaiting the results of Ben's HIV test results.

And as Ben and Kheerat were seen pacing the corridors while riddled with fear over Ben's life-changing test results, eagle-eyed fans noticed that the set location looked 'exactly the same' as the old hospital in Holby City.

Taking to Twitter they shared their reactions as one fan insisted that it felt 'freaky' that the two soap world's had collided.

"The Walford Sexual Health clinic looks remarkably like the old Holby set or is it me? Freaky," one EastEnders viewer tweeted.

"Ben Mitchell is in the Holby City hospital!!!!! Two BBC soaps collide and my brain can't take it," another joked.

Another fan clarified: "Yeah, they actually are using the Holby set."

And someone else went on to insist that BBC bosses should bring back the medical drama.

"RIGHT, WHYY?? GET HOLBY BACK ON THAT SET," they enthused.

"I really miss Holby City you know. That was one amazing drama series," chimed another soap fan.

Earlier this year, dedicated fans of Holby City were left utterly devastated last year when it was revealed that the BBC hospital drama would be coming to an end after 23 years.

The last episode aired on March 29, 2022, with fans 'sobbing their eyes out' after the credits started to roll.

At the time, fans took to comment, voicing their devastation over the ending of the show.

One tweeted: "I’m going to have to watch it again. Doesn’t feel real yet that that was the #HolbyCityFinale I feel sad and a bit numb. Like when you get bad news but don’t really process it."

While another commented: "Oh I am lost completely. Absolutely perfect last episode. I cried non stop it genuinely is a loss. Thank you to all involved for your dedication, commitment and heart. I’ve loved it. It meant something to me and now it’s gone."
