EastEnders fans fear popular character will be axed after spotting huge clue

EastEnders fans are worried a popular character will be axed after spotting a clue in recent scenes.

There is so much drama ahead on the Square, with the show recently teasing that there will a huge death around Christmas. All we know so far is that six women - including Denise (Diane Parish), Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), Linda (Kellie Bright), Sharon (Letitia Dean), Stacey (Lacey Turner) and Suki ( Balvinder Sopal ) - are somehow involved.

It all happens on Sharon's wedding day, but we are yet to know for sure who she is marrying and what brought them all to that point.

The BBC One soap has focused on some hardhitting storylines as of late, including Denise's affair with Ravi, Sharon feeling conflicted over Keanu, and Stacey trying to do everything to cope with the cost of living crisis.

For the Panesars, Suki and Nish have recently renewed their vows but she has decided she wants to be with eve. Ash has left the village for a new start elsewhere, with Ravi's criminal doings at risk of being exposed.

However, some fans of the show are concerned for one member of the Panesar family and their future on the Square.

On a soap forum, one viewer was keen to see more scenes between Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) and Vinny Panesar (Shiv Jalota).

"Vinny is such an underrated and under used character," one wrote, as a second added: "He gets zero screen time. It's such a shame." Another penned: "Yes, Vinny is very underused. I hope he is not on Clenshaw's Axe List."

One viewer said they had even forgot Ravi and Vinny were related, adding: "I genuinely forget they're even related!"

Following his brother Jag's death, actor Shiv Jalota revealed how his character feels guilt over his sibling's passing.

He said: "It’s guilt and it’s numbness. When I was reading it I though wow, Vinny has blood on his hands here. They’re all thinking it as a family but this is on him, this is his fault. He’s changed as a person. Vinny is trying remould himself.

"Vinny is trying to remake himself into someone that he is not. He tries to reinvent his image as a coping mechanism. That’s self-combustion and it’s so heart-breaking to play. The fact that he wanted to take pills and he had no one to confide in."
