Eastenders fans express anger as show is cancelled for football

Eastenders fans have been left reeling after discovering they will not get their full Walford fix as Tuesday's episode is cancelled due to a football fixture.

The FA Cup game between Chelsea and Liverpool will take over the 7.30pm BBC slot, as Gary Lineker presents all the action from the fifth-round tie at Stamford Bridge, right up until 10pm.

But fear not folks, the cast are back on Friday for an hour long episode to make up for not appearing on our screens on Tuesday.

Fans were still not happy. One said: "Why can’t they play with their balls on another channel?"

While another added: "Let's be real, Eastenders is priority f**k football."

Another raged: "Bl**dy football. Everything stops for it, not fair at all."

Another fan moaned: "So sick of regular daily scheduled programs being pushed back for football! If people want to watch football watch it on a sports channel, really irritates me, years Eastenders has been on the same channel pretty much clockwork times and then as soon as football is on it all goes to pot!"

This comes after the explosive 35th Anniversary episodes which unveiled the death of Sharon's teenage son Dennis after the Queen Vic party boat crashed in the Thames.

*EastEnders airs on BBC One on Mondays and Fridays at 8pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm
