EastEnders fans convinced Honey and Jay will get together after distressing news

EastEnders fans are convinced Honey Mitchell and Jay Brown may embark on a surprise romance, after growing close in recent months.

While the pair are like family, with her ex-husband Billy having cared for Jay since he was a kid, it's been hinted the pair will grow closer.

In the latest episode of the BBC soap, Honey awaited news on whether she was raped by her attacker, after she was found unconscious by Jay last week.

After her drink was spiked on her date, she had no idea what had happened to her.

An officer confirmed to her on Tuesday that there were no signs she had been raped by her attacker.

Honey admitted she didn't feel as relieved as she thought she might, but there was more.

The officer revealed there was no way of telling whether she had been sexually assaulted or not, while she was not physically raped.

With Honey not able to remember the night, she reeled as she was told she may never know the truth.

Jay later found a distressed Honey alone in the park, as she struggled with recent events.

He reached out to her to offer his support, something she was grateful for as she confessed to feeling as though love had been ruined for her.

As the pair spoke, and Honey opened up, viewers speculated their bond could lead to more.

Taking to Twitter, some even confessed they wanted the pair to get together.

One viewer wrote: "I never knew how badly I wanted Honey and Jay to happen until now."

Another said: "I can see this going down Jay and Honey getting into a relationship route."

A third added: "Jay and Honey are gonna get it on."

A fourth said: "Also really into Jay and Honey tbh."

EastEnders airs Mondays at 8.05pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.35pm and Fridays at 8.35pm on BBC One.
