EastEnders fans baffled over odd music editing and accuse soap of 'trying to be Hollyoaks'

EastEnders viewers were left a little baffled this evening over the BBC soap's quirky choice of music editing.

Some disgruntled fans even accused the soap of "trying to be Hollyoaks" with the unusual choice tonight.

In particular, viewers were confused as Mick Carter suffered a panic attack while The XX's Angels played in the background.

Fans flocked to Twitter , with one fuming: "What is the sentimental music all about? I hate it! #EastEnders."

While another wrote: "#EastEnders liking the ep but don't like the music it's not hollyoaks."

A third remarked: "@bbceastenders Please stop with this music. It takes the drama and emotion away. Works well for for tacky shows not #EastEnders."

"Music over the scene, what is this? Hollyoaks? #EastEnders," another joked.

Another snarked: "Flashing lights and music panic attacks lol wtf ? #EastEnders hollyoaks noises lol."

One quipped: "...and the music's back. #EastEnders is drunk."

However others enjoyed the change in music, with one commenting: "I love the cinematic feel in tonight's #EastEnders. The music tracks really emphasised those scenes."

Another gushed: "That episode was amazing tonight I loved the music playing over the scenes #Eastenders."

"Felt like I was watching a movie not a tv show tonight and I was crying cos of the music and how proud I am of everyone #Eastenders @bbceastenders," another tweeted.
