EastEnders has been forced to make a big change for upcoming episodes as the Euros disrupt BBC schedules.
The long-running soap usually airs four nights a week on BBC1 - Mondays- Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays - but its usual days and times will be impacted by the delayed football tournament, which was postponed last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Euros start on June 11 with Turkey v Italy before England are in action in their first group match against Croatia on Sunday, June 13 and EastEnders has announced that a week's worth of the BBC soap's episodes will premiere on iPlayer starting from 14th June for three weeks.
Upcoming episodes will see Kellie Bright's character Linda Carter rushed to hospital as her pregnancy causes serious tension in the family, while elsewhere on Albert Square, shock couple Phil Mitchell and Kat Slater take a big step in their relationship.
While EastEnders episodes will still air on BBC1 in different time slot, die hard fans will have the option to binge all four of one week's episodes in one, meaning they won't have to wait a day to find out what happens.
News of the iPlayer first was revealed by This Morning's resident soap expert Sharon Marshall on Tuesday's show and a statement from Executive Producer Jon Sen read: “Giving EastEnders viewers the ability to decide when they drop in on all things Albert Square is something we’re excited about.
"With the inevitable scheduling changes due to the Euros, something we’ll be celebrating in Walford on screen, box setting all four episodes will ensure everyone gets their dose of drama and football fans won’t miss out.
"From indulging them all in one night, staggering across a few days or continuing to watch the episodes play out on BBC One, we hope the endless streaming options on BBC iPlayer keeps viewers content over the next few weeks."
