EastEnders episodes available on BBC iPlayer during Tokyo 2020 Olympics

As the summer of sport continues EastEnders fans will still be able to get their fix of Albert Square, whenever they want.

What started as an experiment while Euro 2020 is on has now been extended until the end of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

As these sporting events change TV schedules and show timings the BBC started to release all four weekly episodes of EastEnders onto BBC iPlayer every Monday at the start of the 2020 Euros.

It meant fans no longer had to choose between Ian Beale and Gareth Bale and can simply watch EastEnders whenever they want.

Broadcasting the famous soap, which has been running for 35 years, in this less traditional way will continue for another five weeks while the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games are taking place.

Where possible EastEnders will continue to air on BBC One every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday however programme times may differ due to the current sporting competitions. In some cases, the programme will not air on its set day and may be included as a double bill later in the week.

Jon Sen, EastEnders' executive producer, said: “There’s enough happening in Walford this summer to keep everyone on the edge of their seats and we’re thrilled audiences won’t need to miss out on anything.”
