June Brown has said the secret to a happy life is to “do exactly what you damn well please”.
Aged 92, the EastEnders actress, known to millions as Dot Branning, refuses to give up boozing, smoking and eating food she enjoys.
June said: “I’m going to die of something fairly soon, so why not enjoy myself?
“I love red wine and also dark chocolate...
“And the Guinness helps me keep a bit of weight on. So I don’t need to be careful about what I eat or drink.
“What’s the point of counting how many cigarettes I smoke a day? I’ve been on them for over 70 years. I did try one of those new electronic cigarettes, but it was so heavy it kept falling out of my mouth – so that went in the bin.”

Earlier this month, June told the Mirror she is losing her eyesight and is already struggling to “go out socially” because of her vision.
She has suffered from macular degeneration for 10 years.
Speaking to the Radio Times, June also said she was now completely deaf in her right ear after lightning hit her house and caused a plug to explode with an “almighty bang”.
And the soap star revealed she relaxes by watching Sir David Attenborough wildlife documentaries.
