EastEnders death bombshell leaves fans devastated as Bronson to be killed off

EastEnders fans were left teary eyed on Friday night, over shocking news of a character death looming.

Bronson the dog was taken to the vets after being sick, and the Taylors soon learned some distressing news about the family pet.

Bernadette revealed the dog was seriously unwell, and that the vet had suggested the best thing for him would be to put him to sleep.

The heartbroken character informed mum Karen and stepsister Bailey that the dog was struggling to breathe, and that his recent ill health was due to his age.

Bronson's body was giving up on him, and there was nothing anyone could do to save him.

Bernadette tearfully revealed the dog was in a lot of pain, and that it was time to put him to rest.

Bailey, clearly gutted, sat in silence taking it all in while Karen completely broke down.

She asked how long she had left with the much loved pet, and Bernie said they had one final weekend.

Spoilers for next week confirm Bronson will be put to sleep in Monday's episode.

A devastated Bailey will request to be with him when he dies, not wanting him to be on his own.

The dog has been with the Taylors ever since they moved to Walford in 2017, and at a time of grief for the family after Chantelle's death he has no doubt been a support.

Viewers were equally upset over the news, taking to Twitter to share their heartache.

One fan wrote: "I started crying over Bernie saying what their vet said about Bronson. The loss of a pet is too raw and heartbreaking."

Another said: "No so sad bronson."

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
