EastEnders' dead teen Dennis Rickman exposes 'killer' Ian from beyond the grave

EastEnders aired the big reveal that Ian Beale had played a part in Dennis Rickman's recent death, as one Walford resident learned the truth.

Dennis tragically drowned in the boat crash last month, leaving everyone devastated.

But what only Ian and Dennis knew is that they'd had a major bust up on the lower deck of the boat, leading to Ian slapping the teenager across the face and locking him in a room.

The boat then crashed causing it to fill with water, with Ian racing back down to free Dennis.

There was a point were a terrified Denny was screaming from his life, begging Ian to come back for him and unlock the door.

Ian did eventually return, and after considering leaving him he did get him out, only for them to be taken out by a wave.

Dennis died and Ian survived, but he's been struggling with his guilt - and he's trying to keep his killer secret.

Now, the truth is out with Dennis exposing Ian from beyond the grave in an incriminating voicemail message.

Dotty Cotton heard Dennis' final message about Ian (BBC)

Dotty Cotton had been suspicious of Ian's behaviour after the crash, knowing he'd been looking for Dennis on the boat and was angry with him.

On Thursday, Dotty was listening to messages on the work mobile from The Arches when she came across something that left her reeling.

A message from Dennis was playing, with him heard begging for his life and screaming at Ian to save him.

This told Dotty all she needed to know, that Ian had locked him in a room and wasn't letting him out as the boat filled with water.

A horrified Dotty confronted Ian, playing the message before forcing him to admit what he did.

She believed Dennis had accidentally left the message in his final moments, as he tried to leave a message for his mum about being trapped.

Ian broke down in tears as he revealed he had locked him in, but did try to save him after.

This wasn't enough for Dotty though, who instead blackmailed him in order to keep the truth a secret - but how long before someone else finds out?

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
