EastEnders, Corrie and Emmerdale in major schedule shake-up that will anger fans

EastEnders, Coronation Street and Emmerdale have been forced into a major schedule shake-up in the coming weeks.

All three of the nation's favourite soaps will be disrupted across one week - starting on Monday 9th September.

And you can guess the reason why - as always it's international football that is causing the damage to the ITV schedule.

Emmerdale will be taken off air completely on the Tuesday and will be replaced by England taking on Kosovo in an important Euro 2020 qualifier.

This means there will only be five episodes from the Yorkshire village that week - and that's not the only big change of the week.

Coronation Street is shaking things up by airing a special hour-long episode on Friday 13th September.

The Weatherfield-based soap usually airs two separate episodes across the night with a half hour break in the middle.

It will start on ITV at 7.30pm as usual, but will go straight through for the whole hour until 8.30pm.

This in turn has implications for EastEnders - as bosses don't want a clash between the rival soaps.

EastEnders will be pushed back to 8.30pm on that Friday so fans of both programmes can watch them live.

England will also be playing Bulgaria in another Euro 2020 qualifier on the Saturday.

This doesn't effect the soaps as they don't air at the weekend, but there is a brief clash with the new series of Strictly Come Dancing .

Will you be tuning in to the football or the soaps?
