EastEnders confirms return for Paul Usher as villain Danny brings trouble for Ben

EastEnders is lining up fresh trouble for the Mitchells, as gangster Danny Hardcastle makes his way back to Walford.

With unfinished business with Phil and Ben Mitchell, he brings trouble with him on his return.

Actor Paul Usher is reprising the role, promising mischief when he arrives in the Square for a brief stint later this month.

Amid Phil's vanishing act after the deadly boat crash, and son Ben's hearing loss, there's more trouble ahead.

While details are being kept under wraps, it has been teased Ben will be the person Danny is after when he heads back to Walford.

Danny got on the wrong side of Phil last time around, with Ben eager to prove himself by working with him.

But the dodgy dealings and the feud that came with them may be about to haunt the family.

In upcoming scenes, Danny returns to face the Mitchells leading to a proposition for Ben.

Will Ben do as he says, and be dragged back into a life of crime?

And with Phil still not back, could it lead to him making his own return home?

Speaking of the role return, actor Paul teased what viewers might expect.

He said: "I’m thrilled that Danny Hardcastle has returned to EastEnders and yet again he is causing havoc in his typical menacing way.

"I am really looking forward to the viewers reaction as the story unfolds."

Ben recently learned he'd suffered major hearing loss after the boat crash, and may never hear again.

Boyfriend Callum Highway has vowed to stick by Ben through his ordeal, but will Danny's arrival push him away?

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
