EastEnders airs the return of Max Branning next week on the BBC soap, after actor Jake Wood’s brief break from Walford.
But he’s in for a big surprise, when Ben Mitchell and Jay Brown take him on in a bid to get back the car lot.
Viewers may remember last year that Jay was given the car lot land by Phil Mitchell, with Phil later claiming it was because he owed him.
He then claimed he had killed Jay’s real dad in the car lot fire in 1994, and that Jase Dyer was not his father.

This all turned out to be a lie spun by Phil, who was being blackmailed by Max Branning. Phil had bribed a juror back when Max stood trial for Lucy Beale’s murder, leading to him being charged despite being innocent.
As revenge, Max targeted all of his businesses, and bizarrely blackmailed Phil into telling the lie in order to get him to give the car lot to him.
Next week on the soap, the storyline is revisited after Jay said he didn’t want the land back, despite holding onto the papers he signed over to Max.
Ben, who eyes up a business opportunity, encourages him to get the land back, making him realise that the papers he signed were not legit.
Jay quickly discovers the documents were not legal, and therefore the car lot still legally belongs to him.
Max has so far got away with owning it and not telling anyone the truth, but Ben and Jay decide to get back what he owes.
It comes amid Jack Branning’s brother making his comeback, with former wife Rainie, who he married in a scam wedding to get custody of baby Abi, still furious.
She discovered he was dating someone else during his time away, despite her still hoping they would make a real go of things.
Max realises he has his work cut out making amends, just as the drama with Jay and Ben kicks off.
EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm.
