EastEnders' Danny Dyer returns tonight as Mick Carter gets an unwelcome surprise

EastEnders has confirmed that Danny Dyer will return to Albert Square tonight.

Mick Carter's family are delighted when he returns, but the pub landlord soon gets an unwelcome surprise.

Fan favourite Mick is one of those back on the Square, after Danny took some time out after confirming his role in the theatre production of The Dumb Waiter, alongside Martin Freeman.

With his stint now over, Danny heads back to the Square as Mick, leaving his family, including wife Linda, ecstatic.

Four characters will make their way back to the BBC soap next week after all of the Walford residents in question recently took brief breaks.

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
