EastEnders confirms Denise's fate after Hunter's attack ahead of a shock death

EastEnders revealed the fate of Denise Fox on Thursday's episode, after Hunter Owen left her for dead in a brutal assault.

Jack Branning's partner was attacked and left unconscious by killer teen Hunter in the last episode of the BBC soap.

As Denise made her way in to the house she quickly became aware that something wasn't right, and began looking around.

Suddenly she heard someone approaching her, and as she turned around Hunter was in front of her.

The scene then changed, but it wasn't long before viewers learned Denise had been attacked. Denise had a bloodied head, and was slumped on the floor clearly unconcious.

As she remained still, Hunter made his intentions clear before retrieving the invitation for the wedding reception, being held at The Queen Vic, from her bag.

In Thursday's episode, Denise remained in the same place only to be discovered by Hunter's mum Mel Owen.

She called for an ambulance, and it's when the paramedics arrived that it was confirmed Denise had survived.

As she was approached, she began to murmur before she regained consciousness.

She was able to reveal she'd been attacked and that the culprit was missing prisoner Hunter.

Denise clutched her head in pain, as viewers tweeted their relief that she was still alive amid claims of a shock death.

Unfortunately for another resident they might not be so lucky, as Hunter held several characters hostage in the pub.

At the end of the episode, the gun went off as he was ambushed by Jack, Mick, Keegan and Kush - but who has been shot?

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
