EastEnders' Charlie Winter unrecognisable after ditching soap for surprising new career

EastEnders' Charlie Winter is unrecognisable after quitting the soap for a surprising new career.

The actor, 26, played Hunter Owen - the son of Tamzin's Outhwaite's Mel Owen - for a year in 2018.

Fans are used to seeing Charlie with his hair slicked back, wearing a jumper and jeans.

However, the performer - now known as Chaz - has switched up his style, sporting a beanie and a array of tracksuits.

In one Instagram pic, Charlie flashes his Calvin Klein's, while in another the performer pulls his hat over his face as he raps about being the "new kid on the block".

Charlie released his first rap single on YouTube in 2018 after recording it on a day off from filming in Albert Square.

The actor's first effort was called Cheeky Chappy Flow, which was accompanied by a video shot in London's Regent's Park.

Its lyrics included: "keeping it simple, smile and dimples/girls see you and they blink and leave" as well as a shout-out to the star's "haters".

Charlie's subsequent track, which samples Ultra Nate's classic 90s track Free in his track Overdue Freestyle, was released in January 2019.

The performer has amassed a lot of loyal fans - but rap star Dat Guy Ar isn't one of them.

He recently hit out at Chaz after listening to his music, raging: “So you are telling me that ten years in jail, the hardship, the pain, the suffer, the risks I have had to take in my life – countless times I have just gone unnoticed in the music industry for people like this. Are you taking the p***?

“You are telling me a man from EastEnders with one dead track can come on talking road and be more believed than me?

“This guy probably came up in a good household, mum and dad. He ain’t got no bad story to tell.”

Hunter Owen, of course, did a have a bad story to tell when the character was involved in a dramatic storyline in EastEnders when he turned into an evil killer.

Following in psychopathic father's Steve Owen's footstep's, he shot twisted bigamist Ray Kelly for trying to murder his mother Mel.

Mel helped her son cover up the crime, but in the end Hunter was caught and took the blame.

More than a year after moving to the Square, the troubled soul was killed by police for shooting Ben Mitchell and Keanu Taylor and trying to murder Louise after escaping prison.
