EastEnders character missing for a year set for return to soap

An EastEnders character, who has been missing from the soap for over a year, is set to return this summer.

Mo Harris, played by Laila Morse, will return to EastEnders for a short stint. She left Walford in 2021 for a life of fun on a cruise ship with her beloved Fat Elvis.

Her departure was aired on June 3 2021, but one year later 'Big Mo' will return to Walford.

The biggest schemer of the family, Mo is usually up to something not quite legit. She was last seen leaving Jean in a rather unfortunate, and illegal, predicament.

Mo left Jean a large amount of drugs, forcing her to seek help from Zack Hudson. Zack was going to dispose of them, but Jean lied and said Fat Elvis' friend was coming to collect them.

Jean used the drugs haul to frame Ruby Allen as revenge for having Stacey sent to prison for assault when she tripped. On reprising her role as Mo Harris, Laila said: “I always have so much fun playing Mo so I can’t wait to get back to the Square and see what mischief she gets up to this time.

"I’ve missed my on-screen family so much and can’t wait to see everyone again.”

Laila will film scenes over the summer.
