EastEnders character comes back from the dead as Kush Kazemi makes discovery

EastEnders aired the surprise comeback of a "dead" character on Tuesday night, or so it seems.

Jean Slater was heartbroken to discover love interest and fellow cancer patient Daniel had died in October.

Fans soon realised he was still alive, and had faked his death to protect Jean.

Knowing he had terminal cancer, he didn't want her to get too attached to him before he passed away.

But it seems he might be rumbled, as the latest episode might have aired his return.

Kush Kazemi was at the hospital where Jean has been receiving cancer treatment.

With her too unwell to visit her friend there as she'd hoped to, Kush offered to go in her place.

Taking an MP3 player and some magazines to the ward, Kush was soon told by a nurse that the lady Jean was friends with wasn't there.

Kush asked her to hold on to the music device and give the magazines to other patients.

But it was as he went to leave that he saw someone he recognised walking through the hospital.

He appeared to match the description of Daniel, leaving Kush utterly confused.

Kush set out to follow him through the door, convinced it was the supposedly dead character.

But as he got through to the next ward, the mystery man had vanished.

With Daniel being alive, has Kush seen him and will he tell Jean?

It's not known if the character will be making a comeback in the future.

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
