Callum Highway struggles to cope after discovering that someone very close to him has died.
The troubled man, played by Tony Clay, is left utterly devastated after finding out that his friend is dead.
A woman named Vicky arrives in Albert Square looking for Callum and tells him the heartbreaking news that her brother Chris, Callum's ex-army colleague, has died.
Callum finds it hard to process the news as Vicky tries to encourage him to come to the memorial on Tuesday.
The pair share an emotional goodbye, which Whitney spots and makes her suspicious.
The next day, Callum fails to focus at work with Chris on his mind and ends up leaving without telling anyone to go to the memorial.
Callum feels overwhelmed when he arrives and ends up quickly leaving, heading to Walford to try and gather his thoughts.
However he is confronted by Whitney, demanding to know what is going on and whether he is having an affair.
But Callum ends up breaking down and revealing that his friend has died.
Whitney tries her best to support Callum and he forces himself to return to the memorial.
Will he be ok? And what else is he hiding from Whitney?
