EastEnders boss unveils when killer Gray Atkins will finally be exposed on Albert Square

EastEnders have revealed when soap fans can expect murderous Gray Atkins to be exposed to the residents of Albert Square as a serial killer.

EastEnders boss Kate Oates has confirmed that Gray’s downfall looms as his crimes will be made public in Walford next month.

The head of continuing drama at the BBC has teased the long-awaited revelation on EastEnders while discussing the soap’s schedule shake-up.

EastEnders has confirmed a huge scheduling change, with the BBC soap set to air in a new regular slot from March 7.

The BBC soap will no longer air on Friday nights, but will instead move to 7.30pm daily from Monday to Thursday.

This marks the first time that EastEnders will air on Wednesday nights and puts the London-based soap up against Emmerdale, which is moving to a 7.30pm slot as part of ITV's own schedule shake-up.

EastEnders has said the schedule change will kick off a "hugely exciting" week of drama on the soap, in which killer Gray will finally be exposed.

This comes as the walls are beginning to close in on the evil villian on the soap, with spoilers revealing that Tina Carter’s body will be discovered next week.

The Carters deal with the shock news that Tina’s body has been found, but will the police connect her death to evil Gray (Toby-Alexander Smith)?

The bombshell comes when DCI Arthurs turns up to tell the family that Tina’s body has been discovered in the Argee Bhajee.

Devastated at her death, the Carters try to process their loss, with Frankie Lewis (Rose Ayling-Ellis) returning to the Square to join her grieving relatives.

As the family reels, a suspicious Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) makes a major confession to the police, which could be another step towards the undoing of Gray.

In scenes set to air next Friday on the BBC soap, Shirley tells the police officers that Gray had inexplicably said that he saw her sister Tina a few months ago on a bus.

She also explains that Tina had withdrawn money from her bank account following her disappearance, giving the family hope that she could return.

Could this be the clue the police need to link Tina’s death to Gray?

While the Carters are unaware of who murdered Tina, viewers have known all along that Gray brutally killed her after she discovered that he killed his wife Chantelle.

Since then, Gray has gone on to kill Kush Kazemi, attempted to kill his children and Whitney Dean, and abuse his current wife Chelsea.
