EastEnders baby joy as character gives birth amid upset for the Panesars

EastEnders airs baby joy for one former resident next week, spoilers confirm.

Habiba Ahmed announces the arrival of her baby, just months after her surprise pregnancy was confirmed by her sister Iqra.

The character left Walford late last year, following the arrest of her boyfriend Jags Panesar who is the father of her child.

She was devastated when he was set up and sent down for a crime he did not commit - with his own family turning their backs on him.

Mother Suki knew it was his brother Vinny who attacked Matin Fowler, but furious over Jags' relationship with Habiba she framed him.

Jags stayed silent not wanting to land his brother in trouble, and next week it's their turn to help him when he needs protection in prison.

Kheerat pays Ben Mitchell to organise protection for his sibling, before he learns of the new arrival in his family.

Iqra tells Kheerat that Habiba has welcomed Jags' baby, recently giving birth away from Walford.

Suki later finds out she has a grandchild, but is annoyed to learn her son already knew and didn't tell her.

When she finds out he's also been secretly paying Habiba's rent, no doubt out of guilt over Jags, she is furious with her son and storms out.

Kheerat refuses to back down though, and decides it is time he starts doing what he wants.

When he returns later on to speak with his mum, he's left concerned when he finds her crying.

What's happened, and can the warring family come together to move forward?

Viewers can see the episodes earlier than usual when they all drop on BBC iPlayer next Monday at 6am.

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:30pm on BBC One.
