EastEnders and Coronation Street air times change AGAIN - and fans left confused

EastEnders and Coronation Street will air at different times to usual tonight.

A major soap shake-up is happening as the normal schedule has been ripped up once again.

Coronation Street will air an hour-long episode tonight at 7.30pm - and EastEnders is being delayed until 8.30pm.

The big change has happened for the last few weeks to accommodate new episodes of Vera, but tonight Marvel movie Doctor Strange is airing on ITV.

Soap fans are calling for EastEnders and Corrie to make the new timings permanent to avoid confusion in the future.

EastEnders tweeted: "Plenty of tasty #GoodFriday drama awaits in tonight’s #EastEnders at 8.30pm on @BBCOne."

Annoyed EastEnders fans took to Twitter after discovering the changes.

One viewer asked: "When is EastEnders getting it’s 8pm slot back?"

"Why don't you just officially make the new time 8.30," added another.

However, it wasn't all bad, as a third said: "I kinda prefer the 8:30 slot, it means less channel changing between soaps"

Emmerdale will remain at 7pm, with Corrie starting at the usual time of 7.30pm and going all the way through until 8.30pm.

Viewers will get to watch all of the cobbles action in one big go without the usual 30 minute gap.

Gary Windass will finally reveal the truth to Sarah Platt about his loan shark dealings, while Gemma Winter and Chesney Brown continue their holiday from hell.

All this means Friday night's EastEnders has been pushed back until 8.30pm.

EastEnders fans will have a longer wait to see Louise Mitchell being kidnapped.

This did create a bit of confusion as some viewers were worried they would be forced to miss on of the soaps.

However, soap fans that understood what was going on explained that Corrie and EastEnders would not clash.
