EastEnders' Adam Woodyatt looks nothing like Ian Beale as he sports beard and trilby

EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt looked worlds away from his character Ian Beale as he rocked a bushy beard.

The 52-year-old shared a selfie to his Instagram and was a whole new person in a trilby hat, sunglasses while sporting a well-groomed beard.

The actor has played Ian in the BBC show for 36 years, but he's currently taking a well-deserved break.

Adam was beaming with joy as he posed on the beach in Dorset.

"Beach walk. #dorset #camperuk #staycation2021," he simply captioned the holiday post.

Fans were clearly a fan of holiday Adam and took to the comments to compliment the star.

'Loving the hat... suits you," one user commented along with a heart-eyes emoji.

Another noticed the staycation glow-up and wrote: "You look amazing, well chilled out enjoy your staycation."

"You look fantastic," one person said, while another wrote: "Looking good! Good to see you smiling mate."

The soap star showed off his beard - which is completely different from Ian's usual clean shaved look - on social media last month.

He stunned fans with the snap, which was a selfie in his cycling gear during a day out riding his bike around Manchester.

He was wearing red-tinted sunglasses and a helmet and looked a world away from his dowdy character in Walford.

Adam captioned the snap: "Another day, another bike ride. This time Manchester. Amazing what you see when out on a bike."

One wrote: "Wouldn’t recognise you," while another added: "Good look Adam, Beard looks great!"

"Looks like your making good use of your well earned time off," a third added.

His departure from the show is only temporary, and Adam is taking the time to enjoy himself before returning to work later this year with a starring role in a new theatre production.

He's set to appear in Looking Good Dead at Malvern Theatres in Worcestershire from August.
