The big-serving Sam Querrey then takes on Italian qualifier Thomas Fabbiano for a place in the men's final.
The doubles takes precedence on Court 1, with the women's semi-finals taking place alongside the men's final between top seeds Juan Sebastian Cabal/Robert Farah and fellow South Americans Maximo Gonzalez/Horacio Zeballos.
