A large crack has emerged on the 80-foot Seaford Head cliff on the East Sussex coastline igniting fears it could be the third chalk-face to smash into the sea in 24 hours.
Two previous cliffs on the coastline crashed into the body of water below with approximately 50,000 tonnes of chalk falling away.
Warning signs have been placed in the area to protect members of the public but this level and frequency of erosion is unprecedented.
Rescuers found the body of a woman in her 20s, whose identity has not been revealed, after reports she was missing, the Daily Mail reported.
It is thought she fell from the top of the cliff during the incident.
Another woman, who was believed to be missing, was located a few hours after the incident and is reportedly safe and well.
The Independent has contacted East Sussex Fire and Rescue Services for a comment but none had been provided at the time of publication.
