East Midlands Trains rolls out new services making it easier for your dog to travel

Travelling by train is one of the easiest ways to travel with pets, and if you happen to be taking an East Midlands line, it has made travelling with pups easier than ever.

The Derby-based train operating company will provide drinking bowls at 14 stations - including Nottingham, Sheffield and Leicester - along with special canine treats on board its services, including canine doughnuts.

The rail service has also put together a guide for taking dogs on a train for passengers. This guide includes where pet owners should sit with their pups on board, tips on letting your pets interact with other passengers and how to prepare a dog for a train journey.

Jake Kelly, managing director of East Midlands Trains, said in a statement: “We welcome well-behaved pets on board and know there are plenty of advantages to travelling by train with your pet. However, it’s clear that some owners are unsure of the dos and don’ts when it comes to bringing a dog on board."

Kelly continued: “To help out, we’ve created a handy guide and are launching brand new doggy provisions on selected routes so that your dog, you and all other passengers are as comfortable as possible when using our services.”

Your travels just got cuter.
