East Midlands Railway donates 8,000 Easter eggs to key workers

East Midlands Railway has donated 8,000 Easter eggs to NHS workers.

The chocolate eggs come in a miniature egg box with six individually wrapped treats inside.

Queen's Medical Centre and the City Hospital will receive some of the 8,000 eggs.

The rest will go to Leicester, Derby and Sheffield hospitals

East Midlands Railway have decided to buy the eggs to thank those working on the front line to fight the coronavirus.

Sarah Moppett, deputy chief nurse at Nottingham University Hospitals said: "This is a very kind donation from EMR and will be really appreciated by our incredibly hard working staff here at NUH, thank you."

Arthur Stephen, divisional medical director for surgery at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton said: "Thank you so much EMR for such a thoughtful gesture! Anything to lift spirits of our fabulous staff at this challenging time is most welcome.

"It’s so humbling to see the nation get behind all of our NHS staff."
