East Lothian man's 'hilarious' coronavirus song encourages locals to stay at home

An East Lothian man's "hilarious" re-write of Gerry Cinnamon's "Canter" has gone viral, encouraging locals to "stay in their scratcher".

Dean Jones has updated the lyrics with his own unique take for the coronavirus age, with fans saying it should be played on the radio to get the message across

Posting his song on Facebook, Jones said: "Another 80 odd deaths in the last 24 hours we really need to get the message out there on how crucial it is to follow guidance.

"With the help of the awesome Gerry Cinnamon here’s a different take on his track Canter to keep peoples minds focussed.

"Stay inside!"

The brutally honest, sometimes sweary, lyrics include: "That it should be a canter. So just stay in yer scratcher.

"You know it could be a canter, if you were just a wee bit less of a w***er."

The musician also took part in a live stream gig which raised over £1000 for Edinburgh Sick Kids.
